UNMU hosts regional nurses and midwives leaders
Interdicted Mityana Nurses Meet Union President
The President of Uganda Nurses and Midwives Union last month paid a fact finding mission to Mityana hospital to ascertain allegations against four midwives charged with manslaughter.
Ms Janet Obuni (2nd Left) and Union lawyer, Kuguminkiriza Moses (R),and the Senior Hospital Administrator, Mr Luziige ( 3rd R) were present.
The midwives were alleged to have caused the death of a mother out of negligence. For details follow this
Ms Obuni said she was so saddened that the media and politicians had incited the public to lynch the Midwives. She said the union would give them moral support and full legal representation in courts of law

Ms Janet Obuni, the President of Uganda Nurses and Midwives Union on a tour of the hospital to assess the environment and working conditions of the health workers. She said swearing the hippocratic oath does not mean health workers rights to practicing in a safe environment to their health ( infections from patients and back) is compromised
